This weekend my ISA group took a trip to Alpujarra to hike the mountains and then to Nerja to relax on the beach!
Saturday was spent on a six hour hike through the Sierra Nevada Mountains going from small town to small town. The scenery was beautiful and the towns all had white stone houses which were blinding in the bright sunshine. We were lucky to be blessed with great weather all weekend. However, one the sun started to set in Capiliera, the small town we stayed in, the winds started to howl, temperatures dropped, and it even snowed a bit after dinner! It was definitely a relaxing weekend with a beautiful hike, a night of hanging out and playing cards, and a full beach day of guitar playing and laying in the sun on the beaches of Nerja. It was a great weekend to take a break and destress for the upcoming midterm exams and crazy traveling after!
Also today I am quite excited because my friend Matt Zients from my Rustic Pathways trip is coming to Granada to possibly work on a farm for a couple of weeks! I am going to show him around and show him what I have learned about this amazing city that I am able to call my temporary home for four months.
Then after this week, I have my midterm exams, and then head out to Morocco for five days, and then head to walk El Camino de Santiago de Compostela for Holy week! More on those later!
